All SEM style Hotplates are suitable for all routine laboratory applications. They are rugged and durable and are designed for temperature uniformly over the whole top surface after a period of time. The bodies are of mild steel, coated with hard wearing enamel coating or of stainless steel supported with rubber feet. SEM style hotplate are Cast iron top units are controlled with energy regulators, maximum 300c and are available with a PID controller The . Aluminium top units are thermostatically controlled up to 280c – and PTFE Aluminium (Teflon “Silverstone”) coated up to 280°C.

Solid state instruments can be fitted for finer temperature control. Stainless steel surrounds can be supplied for sand bath heating.

A separate controller can be supplied for the larger models. Cast iron top hotplate or for any other model when used in extremely corrosive environments.

Special acid resistant element leads and 316 stainless steel is used on the SEM style for heavy acid range of Hotplates.
